PostSubject: The Basic Elements of Art   Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:20 pm

I am currently enrolled in a Graphic Design class at my school and thought I'd share some stuff I've learned...

Basic Elements of All Art

1.Line- Your basic lines creating focals, backgrounds, and objects.
2.Shapes-All geometric/organic shapes. Base of all art.
3.Space-Adds distance and depth. Foregrounds, middlegrounds, and backgrounds.
4.Form-The overall "3-D shape". Seen from all sides.
5.Color-ROYGBIV Also known as hue. Affected heavily by lighting.
6.Value-Contrast, or light/dark.
7.Texture-Gives objects a "feel".
